Unbelievable FAT MAN circa 1900 normal in 2010

This photo was taken from a segment on Bill Maher's talk show this week. It's a vintage photograph circa 1900 from the Barnum and Bailey freak show. This was the show's "fat man" who patrons found unbelievable. He was considered freakish and large beyond believe and average sized folks actually paid for the privilege of looking at him.

Bill's point was that today, he's practically average sized and any stroll down a major street in a major metropolitan area, Any Fast Food Restaurant will lead to dozens of folks this size passing you by.

In Fact from 1960 to 2000 the average weight gain for a male between the age of 20-39 years increased by nearly 20 pounds.

    -- etc

    But just as we've learned by taxing tobacco,
    sin taxes don't work.

  3. Everyone is forgetting that a cheese burger still tastes better than a damn carrot. If the argument was made otherwise, I would make the counter point that they were a either a liar or the minority.
